Tell us a little about yourself.
My Name is Vernon Gordon.  I'm a communicator of hope, husband, father, and the Lead Pastor of The Life Church RVA located in the Southside of Richmond, VA.

From sun up to sun down, what’s your ideal day in RVA?
An ideal day in RVA for me would begin with an early morning workout then my first stop would be a stop at Urban Hang Suite for some Coffee and Culture.  I'd then find somewhere to relax like the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts or a movie.  Lunch would be a stop to Mama J's.  Followed after some more rest, I'd find my way to Spoonbread Bistro for dinner or Southern Kitchen.  Late night would be spent taking in some live music at "The Dark Room" or anywhere some of our favorite local bands would perform.  And if it's Sunday, a stop by The Life Church RVA is where you'll find me and my family.

What would you say is Richmond’s best kept secret?
The Food...All of It! :-)

BLK RVA is all about supporting the thriving Black businesses and culture in the Richmond region and encouraging tourists to do the same. What’s one thing every visitor MUST do/see when they come to our region?
An "RVA-Must" in my opinion would be Mama J's for good eating and the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia for inspiration and empowerment.

You live in Chesterfield. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re staying close to home?
When close to home I am ALWAYS at the movies.  It's my favorite hobby by far, but I also love a good trip to Uptown Alley.

When we say the name BLK RVA, what does that mean to you?
When I hear BLK RVA the first thing that comes to mind is "Community".  RVA has a rich community of color that influences art, music, food, and fun in every way.  BLK RVA is where we share those expressions of our identity, celebrate each other, and expose the world to the beauty of our culture.
